Nathan Delafield
Nathan Delafield is a graduate of our Kinesiology degree program in 2011. Since then he has been a physician and leader at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, where he serves as a consultant in Community Internal Medicine, associate program director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and associate chair of belonging for the Department of Medicine.
During his time at the College of Health Solutions, he learned to approach health not only from the perspective of treating illness but also by understanding the broader social, cultural and systemic factors that shape health outcomes. This along with learning to focus on high quality health data rooted in science, has been influential in his career as a physician and scientific researcher.
He also was inspired by faculty members Kristin Hoffner and Tannah Broman during his time at the College of Health Solutions, who created a welcoming learning environment and demonstrated a genuine investment in his career beyond ASU. He credits them and other mentors for the support that they gave to him that helped him with obtaining his career goals.
In his free time, Nathan spends time with his wife, Jessica, and children, Weston and Olivia, and enjoys traveling, exercising and golfing as often as he can.
