The College of Health Solutions honors and recognizes Indigenous land

The College of Health Solutions acknowledges the 23 Native Nations that have inhabited this land for centuries, which comprise 27% of Arizona’s total land base. Arizona State University's four campuses are located in the Salt River Valley on ancestral territories of Indigenous peoples, including the Akimel O’odham (Pima) and Pee Posh (Maricopa) Indian Communities, whose care and keeping of these lands allows us to be here today. Health Solutions recognizes the sovereignty of these nations and seeks to foster an environment of success and possibility for Native American students.

ASU’s Alliance of Indigenous Peoples

This video is the result of the vision and guidance of the land recognition committee within ASU’s Alliance of Indigenous Peoples, a student-led group that serves to represent and unify any and all self-identifying Indigenous voices at Arizona State University in an effort to ensure that all students are provided appropriate resources and support to develop into holistic Indigenous leaders.

Students featured in this video represent the tribal nations of the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, Gila River Indian Community, Tohono O'odham Nation, Hia-Ced O'odham Community and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
