Other Options || HEP 355 - Population Health and Climate Change
Climate change profoundly impacts the public’s health. In this course, you will investigate the interconnections of health and climate, and how climate affects waterborne and vector-borne diseases, food insecurity, and mental and physical health. You’ll examine mitigation and adaptation strategies that confront emerging climate-related health issues and interact with faculty, and/or researchers, community members and field professionals across a range of observations and activities.
This course is designed to provide students with:
- a deeper understanding of climate and health challenges
- the opportunity to build on skills and concepts learned in their programs of study
- practical opportunities to develop professionally
- a pathway to be more socially embedded and make a difference in their communities
