The Department of Biomedical Informatics is focused on
research that solves real life problems in health care.
The Department of Biomedical Informatics (BMI) upholds a strong partnership among academic researchers, clinical practitioners, and regional health care providers in the advancement of research and education in the science and practice of biomedical informatics. Bioinformatics focuses on the development and application of computational tools for the analysis of biomedical data (such as genomic and proteomic information) as well as the study of biological systems.
Biomedical Informatics (BMI) is a field recognized as increasingly essential to the advancement of the health industry connecting basic sciences with the practical application of clinical sciences. Skilled professionals in BMI are able to analyze and translate large amounts of health data, including research, into meaningful solutions that improve health care delivery and patient outcomes.
