Study abroad

Expand your viewpoint

The desire for health and wellness is not uniquely American, and opportunities to learn from other countries and cultures can provide useful insight and perspective. Best of all, the study abroad programs from ASU and the College of Health Solutions can fit almost any schedule, ranging from as little as seven days to a full semester.

Benefits of studying abroad

  • Gain new perspectives.
  • Travel safely.
  • Connect with other ASU students.
  • Gain memorable experiences.
  • Differentiate your resume.
  • Practice foreign language skills.
  • Have fun.

Global Intensive Experiences

These concentrated study abroad trips are seven to 12 days in length and pack plenty of opportunity to learn and explore. Offered during school breaks, including spring and winter break, Global Intensive Experiences are a continuation of your semester’s coursework. This allows you to connect your current studies to international themes for credit. Plus, you’ll be traveling and networking with other Health Solutions students.

Faculty-directed programs

These study abroad programs provide students with more in-depth exploration of a particular subject. Typically offered during the summer semester, faculty-directed programs are trips that range from 12 days to a month or longer. You can earn university, major, elective and internship credit by participating in these programs. You’ll travel and study alongside other ASU students and faculty and, in many cases, gain hands-on experience while immersing yourself in local culture and customs.
