Hands-on strategies using the Classroom Assistance Scoring System to support positive behaviors every day
This training series is designed around instructional support from the CLASS framework that fosters positive behaviors in early childhood classrooms. There is a clear and growing need in Arizona for professional development that equips early childhood educators with research-based strategies to strengthen children’s learning and promote positive behavior. Stakeholders across the state, including child care directors, Head Start programs and early intervention leaders, have consistently identified challenging behaviors and social-emotional needs as significant barriers to quality care and learning. Educators regularly request professional learning on how to embed positive behavior interventions into daily routines in ways that are developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed. Feedback from Arizona’s workforce highlights the need for practical, research-based tools to support children’s self-regulation, confidence and positive peer relationships. By centering CLASS dimensions such as concept development, language modeling and quality feedback, this series addresses those needs while equipping educators with strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and create resilient, supportive learning environments.
