Dr. Tamara N. Crawford is a public health professional with experience in health planning, program management, evaluation and oversight. Her interest lies in Integrated Healthcare Management and creating programs that employ evidence-based process improvement practices. She received her doctorate from Arizona State University's Behavioral Health program. Her study examined the barriers to access to primary care services among insured individuals at-risk for or suffering from type 2 diabetes. The study was developed in an effort to help address patient retention and engagement issues experienced by her partnered site.
Dr. Crawford is currently a Health Scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She obtained the following degrees from the University of Florida: a Master of Public Health, with a specialization in Social and Behavioral Sciences; a Bachelor of Science in Health Education, with a concentration in Community Health; a minor in Family Youth and Community Sciences. Her additional professional experiences include management of the Ryan White Part A HIV/AIDS program in Broward County by assessing needs of PLWHA as well as managing services in the areas of prevention and care, ranging from youth to the aging population. Her additional interests include examining health disparities and inequities among underserved populations.
