Chelsey Santino, M.S.

Class of 2019

Upon graduation from the MS SHCD program, Chelsey Santino was employed at the Donor Network of Arizona as a Hospital Development Associate. In this role, Chelsey’s primary responsibility was the acting liaison between the Donor Network and Arizona hospitals for the purpose of improving the organ, eye, and tissue donation process. Additional responsibilities included:

  • Hospital policy revisions and monitoring of hospital compliance with CMS, Joint commission, and state and federal legislation
  • Providing process education to hospital providers and staff
  • Providing statistical data to individual hospitals to evaluate their donation program’s performance and documentation of compliance
  • Monitoring process of organ donation cases
  • Working collaboratively with hospital leadership and clinical staff to increase donation and compliance with policies
  • Facilitating process improvement initiatives in assigned hospitals

Chelsey is currently a medical student at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. In addition to her studies she is also involved in the Leadership and Innovation in Healthcare Distinction Track and the Commitment to Underserved People Distinction Track. She will graduate with her M.D. in 2019.
