School for the Science of Health Care Delivery

The School for the Science of Health Care Delivery prepares current and future health care workers to systematically address the critical and complex needs of the health care system. Through the interdisciplinary study of population health, patient-centered care, health economics, policy, data analytics and leadership, students gain the skills necessary to achieve value-based health care in pursuit of the Triple Aim. The school currently offers degrees in the fields of health care delivery science and medical studies at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive education levels. All programs are specifically designed to meet the needs of students from various backgrounds and experience levels including entry-level, gap-year medical students, as well as those with ongoing careers in the health care field.

School of Nutrition and Health Promotion

The School of Nutrition and Health Promotion (SNHP) is dedicated to the provision of a rigorous, high-caliber education for students interested in nutrition, exercise science and health promotion, kinesiology, health sciences, medical laboratory sciences, and public health. The school is committed to the engagement in and the application of research designed to promote health and well-being and to reduce the risk of chronic diseases across the lifespan and throughout society.

Department of Biomedical Informatics

The Department of Biomedical Informatics (BMI) upholds a strong partnership among academic researchers, clinical practitioners, and regional health care providers in the advancement of research and education in the science and practice of biomedical informatics. Bioinformatics focuses on the development and application of computational tools for the analysis of biomedical data (such as genomic and proteomic information) as well as the study of biological systems.

Department of Speech and Hearing Science

The Department of Speech & Hearing Sciences (SHS) is committed to the science and practice of communication. Located in the Phoenix area, we are part of the College of Health Solutions. Our research and courses address the fundamental aspects of communication—hearing, speech, language, education and neuroscience. In addition, we address the causes, assessment, and treatment associated with disorders, such as childhood speech sound disorders, aphasia, language impairment, stuttering, voice disorders, and hearing loss. In addition, we address the technology to improve assessment and intervention for people with these disorders. The Department houses the ASU Speech and Hearing Clinic, a state of the art clinical training facility that is integral to our Department and serves those affected by communication disorders within our community.

Doctor of Behavioral Health

The Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) program prepares behavioral clinicians and health care administrators to promote integrated behavioral care in primary care and other medical settings. One of the key components to current health care policy is to improve the integration of medical and behavioral care; this program answers that calling and provides the needed training clinicians will benefit from as they move ahead in their related fields.
