The Department of Biomedical Informatics (BMI) within the College of Health Solutions (CHS) at Arizona State University (ASU) seeks a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty member at the rank of tenured or tenure-track Associate or tenured Full Professor. Applicants require knowledge and skills in health economics and related quantitative techniques to support data-driven decisions in health organizations. Applicants will be expected to provide data-driven economic analyses for research on health care markets, health insurance, reimbursement schemes and related topics. The candidate will collaborate with local, national, and international health care organizations on research projects and play an important role in the further development and use of the databases in the ASU Center for Health Information & Research (CHiR), a multidisciplinary unit in the College that provides comprehensive health care information for Arizona. CHiR has served as a community resource for academia and public health research for over 15 years.
Responsibilities for this position include developing a successful research program, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and mentoring students in research, and providing service to the program and university as well as to the community and profession.

BMI is located at Mayo Clinic’s campus in Scottsdale, AZ, and engages in extensive collaborative work with Mayo Clinic researchers. BMI offers BS, MS, and PhD degree programs, as well as a new online Master’s degree in Health Informatics. CHS is dedicated to developing the health workforce of the future. We're equipping students to influence healthier lifestyle choices; develop creative interventions to improve the health of people and populations; analyze and translate large amounts of health data into solutions; and maximize the technology, science, business and application of diagnostics.
