Interested in becoming a physician, dentist, physical therapist, optometrist, physician assistant, occupational therapist, or a healthcare provider? The Summer Health Institute at ASU will provide students who have completed their junior year of high school the opportunity to live on the ASU Downtown Phoenix campus for a week while experiencing a variety of interprofessional health-related activities. This will include 3 hours of daily simulation at Creighton University School of Medicine at Dignity Health's St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center (suturing, IV's, intubation, scrubbing, etc), interactions with members of the health care team, and tours of health care facilities located within the health corridor of Arizona.

Dates: July 2019 with specific dates released when the application opens.
Location: ASU Downtown Phoenix campus
Cost: The past five years of the Summer Health Institute have been generously underwritten by community partners. The only cost to participants has been their travel to and from the camp. We are working to secure funding for this year’s Summer Health Institute.
Is this a residential program? Yes. You will be at the camp the entire week and living in Taylor Place. Open to in-state and out-of-state students who will be high school seniors during 2019-2020.
Contact: Katie Isaac Katie.Isaac@asu.edu
Application Deadline: Usually mid-April to early May.
Notification: All applicants will be notified a few weeks after the deadline.
Participant Selection: Open to both residents and non-residents of Arizona. We will select 24 participants per camp.

This is for 12th graders who will be graduating in May or June 2020.

An official high school transcript will be required. Applications will be considered incomplete without an official high school transcript.
