Cross-cutting Areas

Research in the department benefits from faculty expertise in cross-cutting technologies such as natural language processing, knowledge representation, big data and data science, visualizations, and cloud and software architectures. Cross-cutting technologies are used throughout biomedical informatics from genomics and other molecular data through imaging and clinical decision support to population health management. Research to enhance cross-cutting technologies is actively undertaken by faculty and students within our department.
