Getting involved in industry and student organizations is a great way to get the most out of your education at ASU. The School of Nutrition and Health Promotion supports a variety of groups dedicated to advancing research and health promotion. Below is a list of formally recognized professional and student organizations.
The Student Nutrition Council for ASU is an organization which advocates for nutrition programs, services, and education. The Council enhances its members’ and the public’s ability to discern nutrition issues and related public policy issues which influences the lives of Arizona state residents.

The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) is the largest sports medicine and exercise science organization in the world. With more than 45,000 members and certified professionals worldwide, ACSM is dedicated to advancing and integrating scientific research to provide educational and practical applications of exercise science and sports medicine.
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the world's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. The Academy is committed to improving the nation's health and advancing the profession of dietetics through research, education and advocacy.
The American Society for Nutrition (ASN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing together the world's top researchers, clinical nutritionists and industry to advance our knowledge and application of nutrition for the sake of humans and animals. Our focus ranges from the most critical details of research and application to the broadest applications in society, in the United States and around the world.
The American Public Health Association is the oldest and most diverse organization of public health professionals in the world and has been working to improve public health since 1872. APHA represents a broad array of health professionals and others who care about their own health and the health of their communities.
The School Nutrition Association (formerly American School Food Service Association) is a national, nonprofit professional organization representing more than 55,000 members who provide high-quality, low-cost meals to students across the country.
