DBH Strengthens Ties with Collaborative Family Health Association

The DBH program has strengthened ties with the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association (CFHA). CFHA is the leading organization for integrated healthcare in the United States. The mission of CFHA is to promote "comprehensive and cost-effective models of healthcare delivery that integrate mind and body, individual and family, patients, providers and their communities". DBH Director Dr. Colleen Clemency Cordes elected to CFHA Board of Directors

Dr. Colleen Clemency Cordes was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association (CFHA; http://cfha.site-ym.com). Dr. Cordes is thrilled to serve on the Board of such an esteemed organization that so closely aligns with the mission of the DBH program.

Dr. Lesley Manson elected Co-chair of the CFHA PCBH SIG

Dr. Lesley Manson was recently elected Co-Chair of the Primary Care Behavioral Health Special Interest Group (PCBH SIG) of the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association (CFHA; https://cfha.site-ym.com/?page=PCBHSIG). Dr. Manson joins DBH faculty and co-chair Dr. Jeffrey Reiter in leading this important new CFHA SIG. The mission of PCBH SIG is to "grow interest and enthusiasm, provide learning experiences, and promote actionable dissemination activities among CFHA members regarding PCBH Service Model delivery. Discussion topics will include: funding, policy and procedures, skill acquisitions, training models, and research and evaluation." Dr. Manson is honored by this opportunity to serve and assist with further educational, professional development, and networking opportunities for PCBH clinical and management needs.

DBH program announces CFHA Training Program Agreement for DBH students

The DBH program has joined the CFHA Training Program for DBH students (CFHA; http://www.cfha.net/?page=TrainingProgramInfo) The DBH program selected the Tier III membership for 20 student memberships. The CFHA training agreement is open to graduate schools and offers enhanced benefits to DBH students:

  • A complimentary subscription to the CFHA journal: Families, Systems, & Health
  • Access to CFHA email and Discussion Groups
  • All other regular CFHA membership benefits including student scholarships, access to CFHA's Special Interest Groups and opportunities for students to co-lead CFHA webinars.
  • Provide trainees with multiple opportunities to interact with and learn from the nation's leaders and innovators in integrated care
  • Create a cohort of trainees from across disciplines and institutions
  • Provide opportunities for upward career mobility

DBH participation in the CFHA program is intended to extend the opportunity DBH students to become actively involved in CFHA activities and to develop and nurture professional contacts.
