Lindsey Miossi is a lecturer in the Movement Sciences Program in the College of Health Solutions with expertise in sport psychology and mental performance. Her teaching, research, and consulting work all focus on mental performance.
Miossi has been the instructor of record, teaching a variety of classes since 2016. She takes a learner-centered, active learning approach in all of her courses. She designs her courses to be challenging and rigorous while also creating a positive, caring classroom environment. Her goal is that students walk away at the end of the semester being able to apply the research and theories they learned in the classroom to their current life and future career. What she loves most about teaching is connecting with the students. While she is incredibly passionate about the content she teaches, she is equally passionate about the teaching methods, effectiveness, and learning atmosphere.
Miossi is also a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC). She has worked with a variety of individual and team clients to improve their mental performance in sports such as golf, basketball, football, swimming, and figure skating.
Miossi's research focus includes coaches' emotional abuse, optimizing performance, and teaching pedagogy.
