Biography

Jennifer Huberty is an associate professor at Arizona State University in the College of Health Solutions and is an adjunct associate professor of medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Mays Cancer Center. Her research interests include using digital interventions (online, mobile phone apps) to improve mental and physical health in women (i.e., stillbirth mothers, pregnant women) and blood cancer patients. She works closely with industry partners such as Udaya.com and Calm. Huberty is co-author of the book entitled, "Designing Effective Physical Activity Interventions" and has published 110 peer-reviewed papers. Huberty was an invited presenter at the Kripalu Institute in 2018. She is currently consulting as the director of science for the mobile meditation app, Calm, she is the co-editor for the journal of Translational Behavioral Medicine and is the founder and director of Fit Minded, an innovative physical activity adherence program for adult women. Huberty has been funded with more than $4 million in grants from entities including Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, UNICEF Foundation the National Institutes of Health. Huberty is a fellow of the Society of Behavioral Medicine and a recent fellow of the Training Institute for Dissemination and Implementation Research in Cancer at National Institutes of Health. Huberty was awarded the Varner Professorship for outstanding community research and service in 2007 and 2010 during her appointment at University of Nebraska Omaha and won the Alumni of the Year Award in the Department of Kinesiology at James Madison University in April 2017. Huberty is an avid yoga practioner and practices daily meditation. She is the mother of two young boys.
