Biography

Emer Lucey is a historian of medicine and disability. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology in 2021. She is currently working on a book project examining the history of autism and Down syndrome in mid-to-late twentieth century America. With CHS Vice Dean Michael Yudell, she is writing A Way of Being Human, a history of autism (Columbia University Press).
