Lecturer Position

Non-Tenure track faculty, nine-month appointment beginning Fall 2008 (August 15, 2008).

Essential Functions

Teach undergraduate courses in Recreation and/or Tourism Management. Develop partnerships with the community. Advise undergraduate students, supervise internships, and participate in professional and community services.

Qualifications

Required

An earned Doctorate or Master's degree in recreation and tourism management, leisure studies, or a related discipline. Prior college level teaching experience and work experience in the field. Demonstrated ability to teach one or more core courses (e.g., leisure and society, introduction to leisure services, leadership, diverse populations, programming, areas and facilities, marketing, professional development, administration, and/or evaluation). Experience working with diverse populations.

Desired

A specialization in youth recreation (especially youth-at-risk), tourism programming and planning, or entrepreneurial recreation and tourism preferred with other specializations to be considered. Evidence of potential to develop partnerships with community organizations and agencies.

Salary

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
