Bachelor of Science - Program Requirements

A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required for entrance into the major and for enrollment in all upper division courses. Of the required 66 semester hours, majors must complete 42 semester hours of program core courses, 15 semester hours of Recreation/Tourism elective coursework, and 9 semester hours of related area course work (which must be approved by a faculty advisor in concert with the student). RTM 484 may not be used to satisfy RTM elective area coursework, but RTM 499 may. Students must complete all 66 hours with a grade of C or better in each course.

Students are required to complete 15 credits from the list below. Or, they make transfer in electives from another campus or university, if approved by their faculty advisor.

Other Requirements

In addition to the above listed requirements, students must satisfy general studies Program requirements. Students should consult their advisors for current information concerning College of Human Services and Recreation and Tourism Management Program courses applicable to General Studies requirements.

Prior to taking part in the Senior Internship students are required to complete a minimum of 200 hours of documented field experience (paid or volunteer) in the field(s) of recreation and/or tourism management.
