The Minor in Special Events Management is designed to offer students a solid understanding of special event programming and management. In addition to the two-tiered special event course, which provides both basic and advanced instruction, as well as experiential learning opportunities through event production, each student will be able to select electives to meet his or her specific interests.
The Minor in Tourism Management is designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge in travel and tourism management. The minor may be useful to students pursuing degrees in Communication Studies, Criminal Justice and Criminology, Global Business, Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance, Spanish, etc.
Designed to offer students who may choose to work in the field part-time/seasonally a fundamental understanding of recreation programming and management. In addition to the four required courses, which provide a solid groundwork for the field, each student will be able to select electives to meet his or her specific interests.
Provide students in a variety of majors outside of recreation and tourism management an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills regarding youth development and the delivery of services to youth that compliment their current field of study. Required courses offer a combination of theory, methods, and practice, as well as the opportunity to choose related courses based on personal areas of specialization/interest.
