The Wakonse Fellowship in Arizona.

Communication Studies Faculty Associate, Dr. Jodi Decker, has been selected to attend The Wakonse Fellowship in Arizona. This event brings together faculty, teaching and learning professionals from Arizona's postsecondary institutions who recognize and are devoted to the inspirational aspect of the teaching and learning process. The event takes place in Flagstaff from May 15-18.

Application Procedure

In order to be considered for admission to the program, prospective students must submit the following information:

  • Apply on-line directly to the graduate school
  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work
  • A 500-word personal statement that identifies your professional goals and explains how you believe the program will aid in achieving those goals.
  • Three letters of recommendation (one of these should be from an academic source; the other two may come from appropriate professional sources)
  • A writing sample of scholarly work or an example of professional activities (e.g., a technical report, a grant, a creative campaign)
  • If undergraduate GPA (cumulative) is below 3.0*, the GRE exam is required.
    *3.0 in the last 60 hours

Students whose native language is not English must also achieve a minimum test score of 550 (paper-based test) or 213 (computer-based test) or 83 (iBT score) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a minimum overall score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

Eligibility

Anyone who already has a bachelor's degree or master's degree from a college/university is eligible to apply for graduate admission. Students entering the MACS program are expected to have completed undergraduate coursework similar to what is required for the bachelor's degree program at ASU. Generally, applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 (4.0 = "A") or equivalent in the last two years of undergraduate studies leading to their bachelor's degree.
