Requirements

The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University provides opportunities for students to intern with local criminal justice agencies and receive academic credit for their participation. An internship often provides students with their first major work experience in a criminal justice agency and serves as a capstone to the college education. While exploring career choices, students are also able to apply their academic knowledge in a professional criminal justice agency. The internship program consists of observation, participation, and study within a selected criminal justice agency. Internships may occur during the fall and spring semesters. Positions are typically unpaid, although the occasional paid position is advertised on the CRJ Internship Information Board located within the department on the 3rd floor FAB. To be eligible for the internship program a student must meet the following requirements:

  • Criminal Justice and Criminology Major
  • Junior or Senior Status
  • 2.75 Cumulative GPA
  • Completion of 3 of the 6 CRJ core courses: 100, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306
