The Graduate Certificate in Gerontology requires one overview course (ALD 505 Perspectives on Aging, formerly GRN 598); one other "core" course (ALD 520 Health Aspects of Aging Adults or ALD 525 Mental Health in Mid-Life and Beyond); and one Capstone course (ALD 584 Internship or ALD 590 Reading and Conference or ALD 592 Research or a comparable Capstone course in an aging-related area from another discipline); 150 hours of Field Education (working directly with older adults); and four electives.
And any other ALD 598 omnibus courses, as well as outside courses that emphasize aging, with permission of the program advisor.
